ALTAR SERVERS
Student Altar Servers play a vital role in the life of St. Clare Church, assisting at all weekend Masses as well as special celebrations such as weddings, First Communion, Confirmation, school Masses, and graduation. Beginning in fourth grade, students are invited to serve and grow more deeply in their faith through this meaningful ministry. Training is provided by one of our parish priests to ensure each server understands not only their responsibilities during the Mass, but also the beauty, history, and traditions of our Catholic faith. New servers are paired with experienced altar servers for guidance and support, fostering confidence and teamwork. Altar serving is a wonderful opportunity for students to become active members of their parish community while offering a valued service to Fr. Nick Zrallack and the parishioners of St. Clare Church.
STEWARDSHIP CLUB
The St. Clare Communications and Marketing Club—our Student Ambassadors, known as “Stewards”—takes the lead in student-driven communications and marketing for SCCS. This club helps build school spirit and strengthen our community by showcasing the many wonderful things happening on campus to our social media audience and beyond. Members collaborate on content creation, capture photos and videos, interview students and faculty, and produce engaging material for our in-house RiseVision displays, SCTV, social media channels, school tours, and off-site events. As part of our Virtues in Practice program, stewardship means returning to God the first fruits of our time, talent, and treasure. Our Stewards truly exemplify what it means to be a student at St. Clare Catholic School, serving with creativity, leadership, and pride in our faith-filled community.
STUDENT COUNCIL
The St. Clare Student Council is a group of student leaders who have been elected by their peers to represent and share student ideas, interests, and concerns with teachers and administrators. They organize student activities, social events, community service projects and fundraisers. Students have an opportunity to use and apply their student experience and learn about leadership, public speaking, and decision-making within a school system.

YEARBOOK
The St. Clare School Yearbook Committee is open to 7th and 8th grade students who excel in academics and computer technology. Students are interviewed and selected by the Yearbook moderator. The Yearbook staff meets every Tuesday and Thursday at noon in the Library, and much of the work is done independently at the students’ homes. Student photographers may also at times take pictures of various St. Clare School activities and events.
NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY
The St. Clare School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is open to 7th and 8th grade students who are eligible to apply for membership. Membership is based on scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship (details listed below). A Faculty Council is chosen by the Principal to vote on each student who has applied based on the above criteria. Once a student has been inducted into the NJHS, he or she is expected to continue to grow in scholarship service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Service projects take place each year to keep the NJHS actively involved in the community. (http://www.nhs.us/)
Once the first semester is complete, grades are reviewed and averaged along with conduct and effort for the first half of the school year (7th & 8th grades only). If a student is eligible to apply for NJHS, he or she will receive an application packet in the third quarter.
Scholarship
Students who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.6 meet the scholarship requirement for membership. These students are then eligible for consideration on the basis of service, leadership, character, and citizenship for NJHS.
Service
This quality is defined through the voluntary contributions made by a student to the school or community, done without compensation and with a positive, courteous, and enthusiastic spirit.
Leadership
Student leaders are those who are resourceful, good problem solvers, promoters of school activities, idea-contributors, dependable, and persons who exemplify positive attitudes about life. Leadership experiences can be drawn from school or community activities while working with or for others.
Character
The student of good character upholds principles of morality and ethics, is cooperative, demonstrates high standards of honesty and reliability, shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others, and generally maintains a good and clean lifestyle.
Citizenship
The student who demonstrates citizenship understands the importance of civic involvement, has a high regard for freedom, justice, and democracy, and demonstrates mature participation and responsibility through involvement with such activities as scouting, community organizations, and school clubs.
