WHAT IS NATIONAL CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK?
Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week has been the annual celebration of Catholic education across the United States. Held each year beginning on the last Sunday in January and continuing throughout the week, this special time highlights the unique value of Catholic schools.
During Catholic Schools Week, schools celebrate with Masses, open houses, and a variety of activities that bring together students, families, parishioners, and community members. These events showcase the faith, academic excellence, and sense of community that define Catholic education, while recognizing its lasting contributions to our Church, our communities, and our nation.

Catholic schools offer academic excellence and faith-filled education for students nationwide. National test scores, high school graduation rates, college attendance and other data show that Catholic schools frequently outperform schools in both the public and private sectors. Currently, there is a strong demand and enthusiasm for a Catholic education. Nearly thirty percent of Catholic schools have waiting lists for admission and new schools are opening across the country.
