What is National Catholic Schools Week?

Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week.  Schools typically observe the annual celebration week with Masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members. Through these events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.

*Please stay tuned for more detailed information on what we’ll be doing
at St. Clare during this week of celebration.

Good News for the Nation: Catholic Schools Are Thriving

Catholic schools offer academic excellence and faith-filled education for students nationwide.  National test scores, high school graduation rates, college attendance and other data show that Catholic schools frequently outperform schools in both the public and private sectors. While some Catholic schools are challenged by declining enrollments and school closures, the good news is that there is a strong demand and enthusiasm for Catholic schools. Nearly thirty percent of Catholic schools have waiting lists for admission and new schools are opening across the country.  This infographic shares facts and figures about the ongoing excellence and promise of growth represented in our country’s Catholic schools.

Catholic Schools Week – January 2016

Catholic Schools Week is an annual recognition of the importance of the high-quality, values-centered focus that Catholic schools provide to students in kindergarten through 12th grade across the United States. St. Clare School proudly honors those who contribute to the success of our school: students, families, faculty and staff, volunteers, and community supporters. Students participate in various activities and events throughout the week. Catholic Schools Week encourages us to celebrate Catholic education and the joy of being in a Christ-centered environment.

Please join us as we celebrate beginning with the Saturday Vigil Mass on January 24th. CSW is our annual celebration of what makes education at St. Clare Catholic School outstanding.  We have a whole week of activities planned to show what our students are accomplishing and to celebrate the community we have built to educate tomorrow’s citizens and church leaders.  We, at St. Clare, are grateful every day for the teachers, staff, parents, students, and volunteers who make our school a success.    Please take a few minutes to review both links below with additional information about how St. Clare Catholic School will be celebrating CSW this year.
